(Original title: Il ginecologo della mutua) A Joe D'Amato sex comedy starring Renzo Montagnani as a hapless gynecologist who gets the opportunity of a lifetime to run a posh clinic.
Doctor Guido Lo Bianco (Massimo Serato) is in a bit of tax trouble, so he entrusts his high-class clinic to his colleague, Dr. Franco Giovanardi (Renzo Montagnani).
Franco's own clinic is far from high class. It is much more humble. His nurse is Giovanna (Isabella Biagini).
Senora Balloni, a patient (Marina Bellini), in the waiting room is called to see the doctor.
Franco immediately starts fooling around with Balloni, a married woman. Giovanna comments that this place is like a brothel - and we begin to understand that this sort of thing is common with Franco.
Franco returns to his apartment to find his wife Mara (Loretta Persichetti) getting dressed.
Mara is actually a lesbian with no interest in him.
Pietro Massone (Aldo Fabrizi) is Mara's father. He sees his son-in-law's newfound fortune at the posh clinic as an opportunity to cash in big time.
Franco arrives at the posh clinic, a far far cry from his own lowbrow location. He's led by Pamela (Paola Senatore) his new nurse - a stark contrast to his wise-cracking nurse Giovanna.
Franco doesn't know what to make of such a ritzy clinic; he's speechless. Pamela just gives him a friendly grin.
As Pamela gets Franco his lab coat and shows him around his exam room, he realizes he's hit the jackpot.
Tina Arlotti (Daniela Doria) is his first patient.
Franco tells Tina to not be afraid. He's a professional.
But Franco has a hard time hiding his excitement as she undresses.
Tina tells him that she only has sex on the first Sunday of the month. This is music to Franco's ears.
Back at his own crummy clinic, Franco is asked to examine a young girl (Stefania Spugnini) by her mother. The girl doesn't trust the look of Franco, and refuses. However, Franco's father is there - and she wants to be examined by him instead since he looks more trustworthy. Franco's father reluctantly agrees to do the exam.
The girl goes back to the exam room with the esteemed gynecologist and seems overly ready to show him her breasts.
The professor delivers the news to the mother that her daughter is two months pregnant. (But he also tells her she's a virgin - just like the Madonna - to lighten the news.)
Franco is back and forth between clinics, and seeing so many women is already it's taking its toll. At the posh clinic he sees another wealthy patient (Melù Valente).
Franco yells at the woman, saying he's looked at her medical records and she's perfectly healthy. He knows she's just here to fool around with him. He blows his cool, but then succumbs to temptation anyway.
After a long day, Franco rests in the reception area with Pamela.
Pamela gets up and says she has to get out of her uniform - she's being picked up by her boyfriend.
Franco can't resist and peeks through the keyhole. Pamela is looking right at him. He's busted, but she smiles and doesn't seem to mind.
Back at his old office, Franco's wife Mara (Loretta Persichetti) stops in for an appointment.
Franco's next patient is a dour widow, Rosalia Saggarrò (Anna Bonaiuto).
Even the widow is fair game for Franco. They have sex and she absolutely goes apeshit during intercourse.
Franco is back with Tina who comes in for "check ups" on a daily basis. From one clinic to the other, from one patient to another, he's humping everyone it seems except his wife.
But word is starting to get around the country clubs that an exam with Franco is a "must". Franco is determined to have the posh clinic taken permanently from Guido and put in his name.
Franco is back to chasing Balloni aroudn the office, just as in the start of the film. Their hijinx are interrupted by a visit from the accountant.
Back at the posh clinic, Franco is with yet another lovely patient - this time it's Guido's ex wife Mimi (Dirce Funari),
An unpleasant conversation as Franco begins to feel like nothing more than a cheap toy for these rich women.
Of course it was foolish to think Franco could keep this going without being found out. Eventually a patient spots Franco on a yacht - revealing his double life. Word eventually gets to Mara.
Things have gotten so out of control that even Giovanna his nurse is coming on to him. Franco comes up with a plan to have young handsom doctor take his place at the old clinic.
Back at the posh clinic, Tina returns and takes her clothes off as per usual.
And so it ends with Franco planning to divorce Mara and marry Tina. Guido ends up losing the clinic forever and is stuck on a remote Polynesian island. THE END
VZ6 SCORECARD
Sure there's a story in here somewhere. Franco's scam and connivings with Pietro Massone to get the clinic and screw over Guido does take a significant amount of screen time. However, the constant parade of naked female patients clearly takes center stage.
If you take a drink every time one of Franco's patients disrobe you be absolutely hammered before the end of the first act. Particularly Daniela Doria who repeatedly gets fully nude. Doria was in a number of these Italian exploitation films - interestingly, she retired from the biz in the early eighties and reportedly works in the dental field.
I was actually quite surprised to see FFN from Loretta Persichetti in this film - even though she's in a few other exploitation film, I didn't think she had ever put it all out on display. It's interesting to note that this was her final film, so perhaps it wasn't a good experience.
Let's face it. Basically every nude scene in this film is gratuitous. However, Stefania Spugnini showing her boobs to Franco's father is tops.
At the end of the day, this is all just an excuse to show lots of bush, but there is some genuinely funny moments. Renzo Montagnani is a comic genius and actually a good actor. Plus there is a commentary on class structure here - with the affiliates of the rich clinic looking down on Franco - and a stark contrast between the two clinics. Would it be any good without the nudity? Actually, yeah I think it would still be a fun watch.
